About Us
Founded in 1953, the Dick Sims Agency, Inc. specializes in meeting the risk management needs of producers of various agricultural commodities. The agency represents several of the leading crop insurance companies including Farmer's Mutual Hail, Great American Insurance, ARMtech and Rain and Hail among others. The agency is located at 4301 Grand Prix Drive in Logansport, Indiana and serves farmers across the state, primarily in northern and central Indiana.

Dick Sims started the Agency in 1953 selling hail insurance only and still consults with the Agency. In retirement, Dick enjoys cycling, golf, grandkids, food bank, church volunteering and traveling.

Ann Sims previously served as office manager. Her retirement interests mirror Dick's, but also include much nursing home visitation and gardening.

Steve Sims, President/Agent began working part time in 1980 and became a full-time agent in 1983. A former President of the Cass County Council, Steve is also active in the church and community, on various boards including serving as current President of the Logansport/Cass County Industrial Park Corp. He enjoys cycling and running.

Curt Maxson, Agent came on board in January 2008. He has proved to be a quick study and is now very well versed in all aspects of the crop insurance industry. His other duties include spearheading our customer mapping initiative and has mapped over 158,000 acres as of Jan. 2009.

Mike Silver, Agent/Grain Marketing Specialist grew up on a farm In Tippecanoe County and has been involved in agribusiness his entire life. A licensed crop insurance agent, his full time job is grain merchandiser at Kokomo Grain. He has been affiliated with our agency for many years presenting marketing seminars and now services many existing clients. He looks forward to using his expertise to help new clients as well.

Dave Calisto, Agent joined the agency in December 2010. He is a Logansport native who began his insurance career in 1986 after attending Ball State University and IU Kokomo. He serves on several local boards. Dave & his wife Natalie have 4 children. His hobbies include coaching youth sports, running and music.

Sue Lane, Office Manager began her duties with the Agency in 1992 and handles a variety of tasks in the day-to-day operation of the office, including accounting and correspondence. Sue enjoys gardening, traveling and her three grandchildren!

Heide Sims consults and develops database applications and computer software as needed by the agency.
